O.V.A.C. is always striving to bring the people of Ossining the best emergency medical care available. With this in mind, in the early 1980’s O.V.A.C. started to explore the possibility of offering Advanced Life Support. This would allow care in the field that was once only available in a hospital emergency room.

Phelps Memorial Hospital sponsored the first A.L.S. course for O.V.A.C members. This class graduated the first volunteer A.L.S. Technicians (NYS Emergency Medical Technicians Level III) in Westchester County. This again put O.V.A.C. at the forefront of emergency medical care administration.

O.V.A.C. now offers the highest level of A.L.S.-Paramedics. This level of care is available to the citizens of Ossining and is also available to the surrounding communities of Croton-on Hudson and Briarcliff Manor via our Tri-Community Area Fly Car Service.

The Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps, along with its current officers and Board of Directors is facing today with determination and planning for a better future. With the continued support of the citizens of Ossining, O.V.A.C will continue to provide the highest level of care available for years to come.
